Hami Melon Melons Come From these Areas of China

“Where in China do these melons come from?” You may ask.

Well, its the people of Xinjiang who been bequeathed the this awesome responsibility.

And they are working hard to fulfil it.

As we speak, they’ve already devoted 2,172 hectares for the crop in Tuyugou Village.

This acreage reperesents 45% of Hami production vlolume in Shanshan county.

The advantage of growing the fruit in Shanshan  is that the melons mature faster, and stay longer in the market.

To achieve this feat, they have to grow the summer fruit in March.

and in three months (earliest Hami melons enter the market in late May.

The peak production and sales period is in Mid June and lasts until late June.

The Second Harvest Season of Hami Melons Starts In August

To increase profits, farmers plant a second round of melons.

They plant the Autumn harvest in June…

and the fruits arrive in the market in mid September.

By adopting this practice, they are able to supply the market for more days, and earn a profit doing it.
